Pluto Security completed a $34 million funding round yesterday, Tuesday. The investment was led by Jump Capital to scale the company's AI security platform.

Product and market traction

Pluto Security develops a platform that secures AI tools in organizations and applications built by employees using them. The platform allows information security teams to view the organization's AI environment. This includes AI tools employees use, connected components and services, and applications, agents, and automations built.

The platform analyzes actions in the AI environment and their associated risk. It enables blocking of dangerous actions in real time without stopping tool or application use. It distinguishes between legitimate use and risky actions to enforce policy without disrupting work.

For example, an employee can continue using an AI tool while a malicious skill is blocked. A team can work through a trusted MCP server while restricting dangerous actions. An employee-built application can continue operating while access to sensitive information or credentials is blocked.

Pluto Security’s product secures more than 1.5 million endpoints across enterprise customers worldwide. The company has signed over 40 enterprise customers. Its customers include Oscar Health, Workato, Sixt, AlphaSense, and Fortune 500 organizations.

Investor and leadership vision

Jump Capital stated that Pluto is building the next generation of endpoint security for the agentic era. It understands user or agent intent to secure actions in context instead of blocking tools. TLV Partners stated that Pluto is building the security layer for the AI workspace, enabling enterprises to embrace AI innovation without compromising security.

Shahar Bahat, CEO of Pluto Security, explained the company's approach. In a world where employees adopt AI tools and build applications with them at a fast pace, it is no longer enough to focus mainly on preventing risks and blocking problematic usage, Bahat said. We chose to start with an understanding of what the employee is trying to do, identify the risk in the proper context, and allow them to keep working as long as the activity is safe.

Rona Segev, founder and managing partner at TLV Partners, highlighted the company's growth. "As AI transforms the way people work, information security teams need to understand what is truly happening and act precisely," Segev said. "This approach is deeply embedded in the company's DNA, and its growth rate shows how much it addresses a real need."

Saaya Pal, partner at Jump Capital, noted Pluto's community-driven growth. The company built Plutonium, a tool based on its risk registry for AI components, and opened part of the database to the community. Hundreds of security professionals use it every week. Pal said most of Pluto's business opportunities currently come from organizations that reach out on their own initiative.
