PIS/Pasep Payments Reach Final Stage with Last Batch of the Year

PIS/Pasep payments have reached their final stage, with the last batch of the year being released by the Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil on August 15th. This payment round will benefit workers born in November and December, as well as public servants with final registration numbers 8 and 9. The PIS/Pasep benefit is aimed at formal workers and public servants who had a monthly average income of up to R$ 2,765.93 in the reference year, which corresponds to two minimum wages at the time. The maximum benefit amount is R$ 1,621, and the distribution is proportional to the number of months worked in 2024. ## Payment Schedule for PIS/Pasep The payment schedule for PIS/Pasep is as follows: - Workers born in January: February 15th - Workers born in February: March 15th - Workers born in March and April: April 15th - Workers born in May and June: May 15th - Workers born in July and August: June 17th - Workers born in September and October: July 15th - Workers born in November and December: August 15th ## Eligibility for PIS/Pasep To be eligible for the PIS/Pasep benefit, workers must meet the following requirements for the 2024 base year: - Have a monthly average income of up to R$ 2,765.93 - Have worked with a signed contract for at least 30 days - Be registered in the PIS/Pasep system for at least five years - Have their information accurately provided by their employer in the RAIS (Annual Social Information Relation) or eSocial Those who are not eligible include self-employed individuals, freelancers, domestic workers, and people without a formal employment contract. ## Changes to PIS/Pasep in 2026 Starting this year, there is an important change in the PIS/Pasep benefit. The maximum income required for eligibility will no longer be adjusted by the minimum wage increase, but will instead be updated solely by the inflation index. This means that the benefit's income threshold will become more stringent over time, reducing the number of eligible workers in the coming years. ## Checking and Withdrawing PIS/Pasep Workers can check their PIS/Pasep balance and account details through the Carteira de Trabalho Digital app or the Gov.br portal. Those registered in the PIS system will receive their payment in a checking or savings account at the Caixa, or through the Caixa Tem app. Public servants registered in the Pasep system will have their payment credited directly by the Banco do Brasil.
